The morning sun on the Winter Solstice of 2011 exploded across the sky above St Petersburg Bay in Florida and heralded the increasing length of the days as well as the beginning of a year that will bring dramatic and unforeseen changes for many of us. The predictions of what will happen on the next winter’s solstice range from apocalyptic disasters to just another heart grabbing sunrise. I believe the truth lies somewhere in between and in these pages want to share my search for it.

Alchemy, other esoteric traditions and many spiritual beliefs of people around the globe see the world as continually going through cycles of change. I believe and accept this view of our world. So, I see this coming year as another cycle, one that has not happened for many thousands of years, and wonder what our world and the cosmos will be like the day after the next winter solstice.

I want to explore the different explanations of what will happen, identify books and web pages that help me understand what to expect, find resources to help me prepare for my life after December 21, 2012, communicate with others who are also wondering what to do, and share what I discover with the people I love and care about as well as anyone interested in knowing more about the changes coming our way.
